Oxbridge Applications Support
- Eduprosper Tuition's director, Rhys, currently runs all of the Oxbridge preparation provision on his own.
- Rhys brings with him a wealth of experience of helping to prepare students for Oxbridge, in a variety of subjects - both in schools and since he has been running a tutoring business.
- His experience stems from his days as an undergraduate at Corpus Christi College, University of Cambridge, where he was elected as his College student body's "Academic and Access Officer" during his first year of studies. Rhys continued the Access, Outreach, and WP work for his college after his one-year elected post had ended, and was awarded the "Spencer Exhibition" by Corpus Christi's Master, Prof. Christopher Kelly, upon graduating for his outstanding services to the College.
- During his post as Academic and Access Officer, Rhys had a particular responsibility for organising undegraduate volunteers to give tours of the College for prospective students (usually school groups). He also arranged undergraduate volunteers for the interview period in December, the CUSU Shadowing Scheme, and the Summer Schools/Subject Masterclasses. Rhys liaised frequently and directly with the College's Admissions Tutor (formerly Dr Michael Sutherland, who is now Senior Tutor of Trinity Hall College, Cambridge). He also went on trips with the College's Admissions Team to schools/colleges in the College's 'link area' (in Islington).
- When he was teaching in schools, Rhys would help to organise and conduct mock interviews, help students prepare for entrance exams, and assist students with personal statement preparation.
- Since starting his own tuition business, Rhys has continued to help students prepare for Oxbridge. Rhys had only worked with prospective undergraduates, until this point; however, since then, he has worked with prospective postgraduate students. Rhys was particularly pleased to have assisted one undergraduate student successfully apply for, be interviewed for, and subsequently be offered a place for a postgraduate degree in new energies (the MPhil in Energy Technologies) at the University of Cambridge.
